About
Narendra Kumar, MD |
|
I am currently serving as the AAPI Vice President. I
completed my medical
education from Trivandrum
Medical
College and post-graduate residency from Banaras Hindu
University (Varanasi, India) and Case-Western Reserve
University, Cleveland, Ohio. I have been practicing
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck
Surgery
in Saginaw, Michigan
since 1988.
As your AAPI Treasurer, it is my privilege to report that the state of our finances continues to be strong, and we are making every effort to maintain and improve the current financial status. I will certainly fulfill my promise to keep AAPI finances in proper order by maintaining fiscal stability, accountability and enhance financial health. It is important to keep financial matters transparent to the membership. This requires cautious spending and enhanced revenues especially during this current economic climate. I am closely monitoring financial activities at the AAPI National Executive Office, and I am keeping our President appraised on the finances on a weekly basis, and the Executive Committee at our monthly teleconferences. A detailed report was presented at the Governing Body meeting in Oklahoma City.
Over the years, our Quarterly AAPI Journal has become a financial drain, and this year, Dr. Sanku Rao has appointed a Journal Resource Committee to generate funds to make the journal cost effective and self-sustainable. As chair of this committee, I am happy to report that we have generated close to $ 50,000 during this financial year. Let me take this opportunity to thank the following committee members for offering their support in making this happen. Dr. Hemant Patel, Dr. Vinod Shah, Dr. Seema Jain, Dr. Sivaprasad Madduri, Dr. Jayesh Kanuga, Dr. Pramod Kerker, Dr. Jagwinder Sraow, Dr. Anil Khosla, Dr. Monita Soni, Dr. Anil K. Gupta, Dr. Nik Nikam, and Dr. Ramakrishna Gadam .
I am requesting your support in my campaign for
the upcoming AAPI Executive Committee election.

Mission
|
|
As
a member of the AAPI Executive Committee, I will strive to
unite and strengthen the Indian American Physicians to
achieve success in their pursuit of excellence in
professional, political and community affairs. I also hope
to increase active participation of members by enhancing
AAPI membership benefits and lobbying for the welfare of
physicians of Indian Origin at the state and national
levels. This will require establishing a Professional
Infrastructure with an Executive Director and necessary
support staff at the AAPI National Headquarters. I also
promise to continue the efforts of the past AAPI
leadership in the areas of Medicare reform, J-1 visa
waiver, state medical licensing reciprocity, externship
programs, GME residency positions, etc. |
